Event Booth Art Jam - Coaster

Personalize a coaster with acrylic markers.
Check out the tips below before starting on the project.

01 - How to use a stencil

STEP 01

Position the stencil.

TIP : Play around with the position,
it doesn't have to be in the middle.
Part of the stencil can also be cropped off at the edge.
STEP 02

Outline the shapes first.
Remove the stencil.

TIP : Use a LIGHT color or a color that
you'll want to use to fill in the shapes with.
STEP 03

Fill in all the shapes.

TIP : DARK colors can overlap to cover LIGHT colors.
LIGHT colors cannot fully cover DARK colors when overlapped.

Test out on a piece of paper first.

STEP 04 Connect the shapes.

TIP : By filling up the negative spaces, it looks more
like a natural drawing instead of a stencil art.

The stencil serves only as a guide,
feel free to adjust the shapes.

STEP 05 Shade with a darker color (orange).
STEP 06 Quickly use the lighter color to blend (yellow).
TIP : Blend quickly before the previous color (orange)
dries up on the surface.
STEP 07 Darken the center of the flower with brown & some black.
STEP 08 Add in other elements if you would like to.

02 - How to clean the markers

The markers may get contaminated with other colors, check before using.
Draw on a piece of paper to remove the unwanted color.

03 - Samples of how to complete an artwork using a stencil
